Literal Video: Total eclipse of the heart

You saw this video in the 1980s, and I am going to bet that the whole music video thing was so new that you were willing to look past the contrivances and general weirdness that went into the genre at the time. But now, in the cold light of a quarter century later, why not question what you once thought was cool.

Introducing Literal Videos, found on Neatorama. Smarty pants commentary, right on screen, set to that timeless music....

The original was creepy/goofy. The literal version is hilarious. Thanks for that Halfwise!

For some reason I don't have much recollection of the music video genre. Maybe because I was out of the country for most of the 80's.

That Neatorama site does have some neat stuff.

There are a couple of other literal videos in the series, including one lampooning my favorite 80's tune Take On Me by Aha. But this one seemed like the best, especially the first half of it.
