Happiness

I finally admitted to myself that I am flirting with burnout. When wise friends and even casual acquaintances recognize the symptoms and actually comment, I guess I have to stop fooling myself. So I will take a couple of weeks off and disengage fully. No e-mail, no internet, no voice mail, no meetings.

How timely to have found the following on a hockey blog last night:
The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.
Allan K. Chalmers

As I deal with this potential burnout, and do the instinctive manly thing of withdrawing into a cave, I am going to remind myself to remain connected to: things to do; people, ideas and things to love, and things to hope for.
